Over two explosive, unfiltered hours, Passion Fruit covers an impressive amount of ground; questions of race, class, sexuality, homophobia, masculinity and domestic and gang violence are all on the menu. The action unravels against the backdrop of Sandra Falase’s versatile design. A grey and white grid contains hidden cubbyholes that convey different spaces when lit – Romeo’s bedroom is reminiscent of the noughties, complete with pink lava lamp and magazine cut-outs of Rhianna and Beyoncé. ”

The set, by Sandra Falase in collaboration with Chloe Lamford, pitches a tilted concrete disc, steel scaffold, traffic cones and street signs against showers of glitter, paradisiacal plumage and lurid carnival masks.
